Annual Fredric G. Levin Lung Cancer Symposium Brought Leading Lung Care Experts to Pensacola Posted: March 30, 2026 PENSACOLA, Fla. — The annual Fredric G. Levin Lung Cancer Symposium will once again bring nationally recognized leaders in lung care to Pensacola for a meaningful exchange of medical knowledge, collaboration, and innovation focused on improving outcomes for patients with lung cancer and other pulmonary conditions. It occurred on March 26-27, 2026, at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition’s Pensacola campus. The symposium served as an important forum for physicians, researchers, clinicians, and members of the local medical community to learn from top experts in the field, share advances in treatment and care, and strengthen partnerships that benefit patients throughout the region. Named in honor of Fredric G. Levin, the symposium reflected a continued commitment to advancing awareness, education, and innovation in the fight against lung disease. Lung cancer and pulmonary conditions remain among the leading causes of death and diminished quality of life, making the work of specialists and innovators in this field especially vital. Virginia M. Buchanan, a Levin Papantonio partner who practiced with Mr. Levin for many years and coordinates the conference in conjunction with her assistant Caroline Peterson, said:“Year after year, it is an honor to welcome this world-class lung care team to Pensacola to educate, collaborate with, and inspire our local medical community. Lung cancer and other pulmonary conditions continue to take an enormous toll on patients and families, and this symposium shines a light on the physicians, researchers, and innovators who are transforming both quality of life and survival for those facing these diagnoses. It is especially meaningful to continue this work in honor of Fred Levin, who faced Stage IV metastatic lung cancer with extraordinary courage after his diagnosis in January 2016.” The Fredric G. Levin Lung Care Symposium stands as a tribute to Mr. Levin’s legacy and to the ongoing effort to bring cutting-edge expertise and compassionate care to patients confronting serious pulmonary illness.
