Transvaginal Mesh & Women’s Health

Levin Papantonio is actively pursuing cases against the manufacturers of transvaginal mesh products.  Transvaginal mesh or pelvic  mesh  is used to treat women’s health issues such as stress urinary incontinence or pelvic organ prolapse.

In July 2011, the FDA issued heightened warnings regarding mesh used in pelvic organ prolapse, and in September 2011, the FDA special panel recommended to regulators that pelvic organ prolapse devices be reclassified and that further studies be conducted.

Transvaginal mesh complications include:

•   Mesh erosion

•   Mesh-related infections

•   Chronic inflammation

•   Bleeding

These products destroy women’s intimate lives and cause severe and permanent injury, often requiring numerous surgical interventions.

As an active participant in the litigation, Levin Papantonio is filing cases against the manufactures of these products.  State and federal filings have occurred across the country and consolidated proceedings are in place in Deleware, New Jersey, and Minnesota.  Hon. Judge Joseph R. Goodwinrecently appointed a stable of qualified attorneys to leadership positions on the Plaintiff Steering Committees , including Levin Papantonio’s Robert Price.

Our firm can assist in helping you understand the nuances of these cases and navigate the sprawling waters of transvaginal mesh lawsuits.  Robert Price is ready to assist, contact him at rprice@levinlaw.com
