America survives and thrives when manufacturers innovate, produce, and sell their products. This is a good thing. What is not good is when corporations profit off products they know are defective, harmful, and are injuring innocent people. The civil justice system often is the only way to hold these companies accountable for the harm they cause.

Since 1955, we have been forcing the largest corporations in the world to face juries and pay for the damages they have produced. Each year we help teach more than 1,500 attorneys how to successfully handle these types of cases.

Abbott Facility Formula RecallLawsuits arose from a February 2023 recall of certain Similac, Alimentum, and EleCare products. Reports of infants becoming ill with Salmonella after consuming formula contaminated with Cronobacter sakazakii bacteria at the Abbott manufacturing facility in Sturgis, Michigan, prompted the recalls.
Baby FoodIn 2019, the nonprofit organization Healthy Babies Bright Futures published its report “What’s in My Baby’s Food?” based on a national investigation of baby food brands. The study found that 95% of tested baby food products contain toxic chemicals, including arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury.
C8DuPont released millions of pounds of the chemical C8 into the Ohio River and into the air from its plant in Parkersburg, West Virginia, causing thousands of persons to suffer injuries, including kidney and testicular cancer, and ulcerative colitis.
ChlorpyrifosChildren exposed to chlorpyrifos in the womb or at a very young age have suffered severe neurological injuries because of the chemical.
DacthalChildren of mothers exposed to the weedkiller may have suffered significant harm and birth defects.
DicambaBeginning in 2016, the herbicide dicamba began causing serious crop damage on farms where the product was not even being sprayed. Crops were dying because dicamba was blowing or washing onto the property of nearby farms.
Electronic Cigarette ExplosionsElectronic cigarettes have been known to overheat and explode during normal use, and also during charging, causing severe burns to users and property damage.
EzriCare Artificial TearsUse of these eye drops has been linked to an outbreak of carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA). These infections have led to vision loss and even death.
Fisher-Price Rock ‘N Play SleeperThe American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that infants be placed flat on their back, free of soft bedding, and not on an incline. This helps minimize the risk of an infant accidentally suffocating during sleep. The Fisher-Price Rock ‘N Play does not comply with these guidelines.
GenXGenX is a chemical invented by DuPont to replace its highly toxic chemical C8, which was being used in products such as Teflon. In 2016, it began showing up in various waterways in North Carolina.
JUULJUUL e-cigarette devices deceptively marketed a highly concentrated nicotine delivery system to teenagers and young adults in order to get them addicted to JUUL products.
Military EarplugsThe lawsuits involving 3M military earplugs claimed the earplugs that 3M sold to the military between 2003 and 2015 were ineffective because they would not hold tight within a user’s ears resulting in significant hearing damage.
OnewheelOnewheel lawsuits claim that the electric skateboards unexpectedly shut off. The abrupt stop causes nosedives and sudden, often violent, ejections from the board.
RoundupThe lawsuits against Monsanto Bayer claimed the company failed to warn users of Roundup that the herbicide was linked to an increased risk of developing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Takata Airbag RecallBeginning in 2014, millions of airbag manufactured by Takata have been recalled. The solid chemical propellant used in the airbags had a propensity to deteriorate over time.
Teething GelsIn September 2016, the FDA issued a warning asking parents to immediately stop using homeopathic teething gels and tablets because severe injuries could occur, including seizures and loss of breath.
VW Emissions FraudIn 2015, the EPA charged Volkswagen with using a “defeat device” on its engines to deceive emissions tests. In 2016, VW agreed to a multi-billion dollars global settlement.
Whippet and Whip-It!Nitrous oxide (N₂O) products, including whippets are widely abused recreationally posing significant health risks.
